Ahead of the planned commissioning of the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University slated to hold tomorrow, Wednesday 7th September, the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd on Tuesday inspected the level of preparation at the proposed venue for the ceremony, along Emohua-Kalabari Road, Emohua town, Emohua LGA, Rivers State.
The council chairman was received on arrival by the vice chancellor of the University, Professor Nlerum Okogbule and other management staff of the institution.
Also on ground at the venue was the former chief medical director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof. Aaron Ojule.
The Emohua campus of the Rivers State University is one of the three satellite campuses of the University conceived and constructed simultaneously by the Nyesom Wike led Rivers State government.
Recall that the Governor had during the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of the satellite campuses in May 2021 approved the relocation of the state university’s faculty of social sciences to the Emohua campus, with a view to decongesting the main campus of the university in Port Harcourt city local government area.
Oyo State governor, H E, Engr. Seyi Makinde is expected to perform the commissioning on the invitation of the governor of Rivers State, H.E Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
The ceremony billed for 10:00am is also expected to attract dignitaries from all walks of life.
