Recall that on September 7, 2022, the then Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had during the inauguration of the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University (RSU) directed the chairman of Emohua local government area to support the state government with the provision of a police station to improve security around the university community.
The local government chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd known for building for the future, had instead conceptualized a storey building to serve as a divisional police station, following the absence of a divisional police station in the local government headquarters since the creation of the local government area in 1991.
The Emohua local government under the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd had also approached the Nigerian Police for the creation of a divisional police headquarters to occupy the facility upon completion.
The building which is situated opposite the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University along Emohua-Kalabari road is almost ready for use, as the local government awaits the creation of the first ever divisional police headquarters in the headquarters of Emohua local government area.
