Christmas Gift To PDP Supporters Is A Tradition Of The New Rivers Vision, Which Gov Fubara Is Continuing, Says Emeka Woke

Emohua PDP Leadership Appreciates Wike And Sim For Christmas Gifts

The chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has restated that there is no contention in the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the LGA, stressing that the party remains firmly united under the leadership of the caucus committee chairmen, Eze Paul Wokhe Wonodi.

He advised those trying to take advantage of the crisis between the executive and legislative arms of the Rivers State Government to organize parallel party meetings to have a rethink and retrace their steps in the interest of peace and unity, stressing that the only party meeting recognized by the leadership of the party is the one convened at the instance of the leadership caucus in the LGA.

Dr. Lloyd stated this at a stakeholders meeting held at the Emohua local government council headquarters on Friday.

He said most of those parading themselves as supporters of Gov. Fubara are people who didn’t contribute to the governor’s victory in the general election, stressing that nobody could be more Fubara than those who slept outside to ensure the governor was returned elected.

In their separate speeches, the immediate past representative of Emohua constituency in the state assembly, Hon. Sam Ogeh; the immediate past commissioner of environment, Barr Emenike Eke; and the youth leader of the PDP in Rivers State, Hon. Ikpechi Oriji, urged party supporters in the LGA not to be distracted by the activities of those trying to balkanize the party in the area, stressing that the leadership of the party remains formidable in the state and local government areas.

In his brief address, the leader of the Emohua LGA caucus of the PDP and former caretaker committee chairman of the LGA, Eze Paul Wonodi, urged party supporters to remain committed, stressing that the crisis in the state would be resolved.

He called for prayers to seek God’s intervention for lasting peace in the party.

Also speaking at the meeting, the immediate past chief of staff of Rivers State Government House and former chairman of Emohua LGA, Chief Engr Emeka Woke, urged party supporters to remain focused and always wait for directives from the party’s leadership in the area.
Speaking on the delayed allocation of shops at the Mile 1 market, Chief Emeka Woke said the allocation of shops in the market was stalled by a court process instituted by the traders association and not the immediate past administration.
He said it is unfortunate that people are quick to discard the achievements of the previous administration just to score cheap political points, emphasizing that traders in Rivers State fared well under Wike’s administration, especially in the rebuilding of the market, which got burned for years before the emergence of Nyesom Wike as Governor of Rivers State.
Emeka Woke also criticized those using the Christmas gift from Governor Fubara to incite a crisis in the state.

He said Governor Fubara is only consolidating on the achievements of his predecessor, stressing that giving Christmas gifts to party supporters was already a tradition of the New Rivers Vision project, which Gov. Fubara is continuing.

The high point of the stakeholders meeting, which had leaders across the LGA, including ward chairmen and councilors in attendance, was the distribution of the Christmas gift from the minister of the F.C.T., Nyesom Wike, and a review of the distribution of the Christmas gift earlier received from Gov. Fubara.

The leadership of the PDP commended Gov. Fubara and Fmr. Gov. Wike for their show of love to party faithful across the state in line with the age-long tradition of the New Rivers Vision project while praying for lasting peace in the state.

His wife, Lady Divine Adanma Chidi-Lloyd, accompanied Dr. Lloyd to the stakeholders.
