Chidi Lloyd Has Redefined Local Government Administration, Say Rivers PDP Chairman
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has warned that the local government under his watch will not fold its arms and allow any individual or group to jeopardize the prevalent peace in the area through provocative activities, stressing that any attempt to sabotage his administration’s efforts in sustaining peace and security across the LGA will be visited with unimaginable resistance.
He declared that no part of the local government area will be used to cast aspersions on the immediate past Governor of Rivers State and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, under any guise, as doing so will provoke the people of the area, who are predominately supporters and followers of the immediate past governor.
He said the people of Emohua local government will not tolerate any gathering where the FCT Minister will be maligned by politicians seeking relevance by fueling political crises in Rivers State.
Dr. Lloyd gave the warning at the ceremony marking the commissioning of the 1 Kilometer Chief Nyesom Wike Drive in Akpabu community, being the third in the series of community road projects undertaken simultaneously across Emohua LGA by his administration.
“Let me warn that we will not tolerate anybody or group gathering under the guise of anything to cast aspersions on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, not while I’m chairman of Emohua LGA, I will resist it with everything I have.
“You are free to be friends with whoever, but any further aspersions on the person of the FCT minister will be resisted.
“No part of this LGA will be used to cast aspersions on the person of the FCT minister; we will not tolerate it.
“And if they want this state to flame up, we will help them to put the flame; enough is enough”.
Dr. Lloyd particularly lambasted Mr. Evans Bipi for making the former governor his topic of discussion in all his political appearances, in their attempt to continue fueling the political crisis in Rivers State.
“Now let me send this strong message and warn Evans Bipi; he was my colleague in the state assembly, and I couldn’t remember any motion that had his name on it. Enough is enough. We will no longer tolerate this from anyone.”.
The Emohua Council boss said the people of Emohua LGA will continue to stand by the immediate past governor, who has shown great love to the people. At the same time, he was Governor of Rivers State and is still doing so even as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He thanked the former governor and the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for providing the platform to showcase himself and for the different projects attracted to his community, Akpabu and Emohua local government areas under his watch as governor.
He further commended the leaders of the party in Emohua LGA for giving him the platform to address most of the pressing needs of his people.
Dr. Lloyd said the 1-kilometre Nyesom Wike Drive was named after the former governor in recognition and appreciation of the love and support he extended to Akpabu people while he was governor.
The Special Guest of Honor and chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka, who performed the inauguration of the road project, lauded Dr. Lloyd for making the party proud with outstanding achievements within his first term in office, stressing that the Emohua council boss has within a short time redefined local government administration.
Represented by the state secretary of the party, Dr. Benibo George, the Rivers PDP chairman encouraged Dr. Lloyd to continue to keep the flag of the party flying with outstanding performance, stressing that the party, under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, remains solidly behind the council chairman.
George Benibo, on behalf of the state party chairman, commended Dr. Lloyd for immortalizing the party’s leader in the state by naming the road after him.
He noted that the only way to get more opportunities to serve the people is to serve them well with every available opportunity, stressing that the council chairman has done well for the people of Emohua LGA.
The state party secretary noted that Emohua LGA has been in the news for several project commissioning ceremonies under the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, attributing the chairman’s achievements to the cordial relationship between the executive and the legislature while appreciating members of Emohua local government legislative assembly for their support of the chairman.
Speaking further, Dr. Benibo frowned at the insinuations that Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka is not the chairman of the party in Rivers State, emphasizing that there is no division in the state party executive under the chairmanship of Hon Aaron Chukwuemeka, whom he described as the only and authentic chairman of PDP in Rivers State.
He also reaffirmed that the political structure of Rivers State, under the leadership of H.E. Nyesom Wike, remains insurmountable.
Earlier in his project description, the supervisor of works, Hon. Ikpo Solomon, said the 1-kilometre Nyesom Wike road was constructed with 2-kilometre drainage on both sides of the road, to save the road from erosion.
He also disclosed that the completion of the road was already attracting development to the area, as several property owners along the road had already commenced different projects on their properties.
In their separate solidarity speeches, Mr. Austin Enyika and Barr Moore Osaodigwe thanked the leadership of the PDP in Emohua LGA for finding Dr. Lloyd worthy to oversee the local government, while declaring the total support of the people of Ishimbam district of Emohua LGA to the council chairman and the FCT minister, H.E. Nyesom Wike.
The event attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, critical stakeholders, heads of security agencies, and principal officers of Emohua local government council.
The wife of the executive chairman of Emohua LGA, Lady Divine Adanma Chidi-Lloyd, accompanied her husband to the commissioning ceremony.
