The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd has declared that there will be no January salary for appointees of the council who were absent from the 2022 armed forces remembrance day celebration held at the council secretariat on Saturday.
The council chairman in a statement through his chief press secretary, Bright Jossy Elendu said the absence of some appointees of the council at the just concluded armed forces remembrance day after a prompt notice from the council secretary, leaves a question mark on the sincerity of their loyalty and commitment to the success of his administration.
Dr Lloyd said the exclusion of the absentees from the January salary will serve as a wake up call to all appointees of the council who are not adding value to his administration, to sit-up and be productive in their respective offices or risk dismissal.
Consequently the council chairman has directed that the January salary of Emohua local government appointees be paid using the attendance register taken at the armed forces remembrance day celebration held on Saturday, as a disciplinary measure to instill seriousness in the official conduct of all officers and staff of the local government.
He further warned that the days when council appointees received monthly salary from the comfort of their homes with little or no contribution to the local government were over, as his administration will not hesitate to replace any appointee who is not ready to provide value with their appointment.
Signed
Bright Jossy Elendu
Chief Press Secretary,
Emohua LGA.
