In compliance with executive order 21, recently signed by the governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, mandating political parties and candidates seeking to use premises of public schools in the state for political activities to obtain written approval from the state ministry of education two weeks before the date of the event, the chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd says the enforcement of the order takes immediate effect across all communities in the LGA.
Dr Lloyd in a statement on Monday, urged traditional rulers and security agencies, mainly including the Emohua Local Government Vigilante Services (Emovis) to enforce the Order, adding that any community that fails to report any breach, the traditional ruler of such community shall be made to explain to government and the full weight of the law shall be brought upon anyone or political party, candidates or group found guilty or in contravention of the Order, in any part of the LGA, no matter how highly placed.
The council chairman said the call also aligns with his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in the Local Government Area.
