The leadership caucus of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Emohua local government area on Tuesday passed a vote of confidence on the chairman of the local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd . The Emolga PDP leadership caucus declared this when they embarked on a tour of projects being executed across the LGA by the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd.
Speaking with journalists after the project tour, the chairman of Emolga PDP leadership caucus committee and erstwhile chairman of the LGA, Eze Prince Paul Wonodi said the leadership of the party was very impressed with the achievements of Dr. Chidi Lloyd in less than one year of his administration, describing as unprecedented the infrastructural revolution witnessed across the local government area under his watch.
Hon Paul Wonodi maintained that the council chairman’s sterling performance didn’t come as a surprise to the leadership of PDP in Emohua LGA who already believed in his capacity and capability before settling for him in the last local government council election, stressing that the people of Emohua LGA have no regret in the choice of Dr. Chidi Lloyd for the chairmanship of local government council.
“The entire leadership caucus of PDP in Emohua LGA is very proud of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, for his sterling performance in less than one year of his administration. “We have toured all the project sites and we’re impressed with the quality of the projects and commend the council chairman and his team for making us proud. “We have no regret bringing him to oversee the affairs of the council and we are going to continue to support him. In short, the entire leadership and stakeholders of PDP in Emohua LGA hereby pass a vote of confidence on the council chairman.
“We encourage him to keep on with his good works and we enjoy everyone to support to support him” He stated.
In his own remarks, the honorable commissioner Rivers State ministry of housing, Elder Chinedu Tasie Nwobueze said the council chairman’s sterling performance will form part of PDP’s campaign statement in Emohua LGA ahead of the 2023 general election, emphasizing that the council chairman has in less than one year consolidated on the achievements of Gov Nyesom Wike in Emohua LGA in the area of infrastructural development.
Elder Chinedu Tasie noted that the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd has established its presence in almost all parts of the local government area and urged the people of the area to continue to support the PDP government in the state and local government levels.
Also speaking after the project inspection, the chairman of PDP in Emohua LGA, Hon Uche Minikwu said the party was very proud of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, describing the council chairman as a distinguished administrator who has within his short period in office set a new standard in local government administration.
Speaking on the sideline of the project tour, former chief of staff Rivers State government house, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh , said the performance of Dr. Chidi Lloyd wasn’t unexpected, as the council chairman already has a track record of performance and effective representation. He called on the people of the area to rally behind the council chairman to actualize his vision for the local government area.
The project sites visited include the already completed Emohua local government healthcare center in the council secretariat, the almost completed Emohua local government vigilante services secretariat building at Mgbuitanwo junction along East-West road, the ongoing construction of Emohua local government council secretariat (Administrative Building), ongoing construction of Emohua local council staff canteen, the ongoing reconstruction and remodeling of Emohua local government legislative council complex, the construction of Emohua council chapel and marriage registry, the construction of 350 seater ICT studio named after Chief Emeka Woke in the council secretariat. Others are; the construction of 500 seater pavilion in the council secretariat, the construction of 20,000 gallon Braithwaite water reticulation project ongoing at the council secretariat, the completion of the long abandoned office complex in the council secretariat, the fencing and security tower building at Divisional police headquarters and court complex in Rumuji and the renovation of the temporary site for Elele-Alimini magistrate court complex.
The council chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd who led the PDP leadership on the project tour also took his visitors to the four road projects being executed simultaneously across the LGA by his administration. The projects include the construction of 1 kilometer Eveku road with 2 kilometer drainage in Eveku-Odegu, where surface preparation for asphalt laying was being concluded, the construction of 1 kilometer Ubimini road with 2 kilometer drainage in Ubimini community, the onstruction of 1.5 kilometer Ukeli road with 3 kilometer drainage in Rundele and the construction of 1 kilometer Chief Nyesom Wike Drive with 2 kilometer drainage in Akpabu community.
The council chairman reiterated that himself and officers of the council had to deny themselves of personal benefits and entitlements to ensure that the local government area was repositioned to attract rapid development.
He commended the leadership of PDP in Emohua LGA for the trust bestowed upon him few months after his return to the party, promising to continue to make the LGA the center of attraction with the slim resources available to the council under his watch.
