–As Dr Chidi Lloyd Vows To Exercise His Constitutional Mandate On Anyone Who Dares Government
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd has vowed to exercise his constitutional mandate on anyone who dares the government by going ahead to conduct youth election in Elele-Alimini which was earlier suspended by the government.
Dr Lloyd in a statement through his chief press secretary, Bright Jossy Elendu stated that the government is aware of a secret meeting held by some highly placed individuals in Elele-Alimini, where plans were initiated to undermine the ban on youth elections in Rivers State, by going ahead with the election.
The council chairman in the statement warned that those planning to conduct the youth election in Elele-Alimini will have the government to contend with, as he will stop at nothing to have them arrested and prosecuted in line with relevant laws, no matter how highly placed.
The statement further reassured the people of Elele-Alimini in particular and Emohua local government area in general, that Dr Chidi Lloyd is constitutionally empowered as the democratically elected chairman of the local government area to declare wanted, arrest and prosecute anyone, whether a serving or retired security personnel, no matter the rank, who dares to fracture the existing peace and security in any part of Emohua government government area.
The statement reaffirmed and recognized the existence of a caretaker committee already inaugurated to pilot the affairs of the youth body in Elele-Alimini for the next three months.
