Officials of Emohua local government area rescued victims of a car crash along the Oduoha-Emohua axis of the East-West road.
A commercial bus conveying traders and their goods from Bayelsa State had a brake failure and somersaulted into the bush at the Oduoha-Emohua junction along the East-West road, leaving about ten occupants injured and goods destroyed.
In a swift response to an SOS call, the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, mobilized the emergency response team of the local government to rescue the accident victims from the crashed vehicle.
The local government emergence response team, comprising aides of the local government chairman, officials of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Police, and Civil Defence Corps, as well as the local vigilante, evacuated the accident victims from the crashed vehicle and transported them to the primary healthcare centre inside Emohua local government council headquarters, with an express directive from the local government chairman for immediate treatment.
Although no life was lost in the car crash, most of the victims sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical attention at the local government’s primary healthcare centre.
