— Constitutes Caretaker Committee To Pilot The Affairs Of The Community For A Period Of Three Months
The executive chairman of Emohua local government council, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has intervened in the leadership dispute rocking Mgbuelia community council, otherwise known as Ogbakor Mgbuelia in Rundele, Emohua LGA, urging interested parties in the dispute which has denied the community the opportunity to collectively elect an acceptable leadership, to consider the peculiarity of the area and come to a common ground to resolve their differences.
The council chairman during a meeting with stakeholders from Mgbuelia community in his office on Friday sued for peace amongst the principal actors in the dispute, stressing that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere devoid of peace and tranquility.
Dr. Lloyd after an extensive interactive section with stakeholders from the community which held behind closed doors, constituted an interim management committee, otherwise referred to as caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the community for a period of three months.
Members of the caretaker committee are:
1. Chief Dike Eleonu — Chairman
2. Chief Igbani Stephen
3. Chief Dr. E.A Wugo
4. Mr. Vincent Ejiowhor
5. Chief Elendu Kpalukwu
Following the appointment of the 5 man caretaker committee charged to get to the root of the dispute and reconcile parties involved, with a view to preventing imminent crisis in the community in particular and Emohua LGA at large, the council chairman effectively approved the dissolution of every other committee in the community, including the election planning/organizing committee (Eleco) previously constituted to conduct the election of Ogbakor Mgbuelia community.
The Emolga council Boss mandated the newly constituted caretaker committee of Ogbakor Mgbuelia-Rundele to work with relevant stakeholders and government agencies to sustain the already existing peace and security in the area, while working out modalities for the enthronement of a substantive leadership for the community council (Ogbakor Mgbuelia-Rundele ).
Dr. Lloyd further commended the councilor representing Rundele (ward 7) in Emohua legislative council, Hon Emenike Wokanma and other stakeholders in Mgbuelia for the proactive steps taken to forestall the breakdown of law and order in their community and for bringing the development to the attention of the local government council.
