— Enjoins Electorates To Mobilize Support To Consolidate On The Outcome Of PDP Primaries In The 2023 General Election
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has congratulated the former Rivers State Commissioner for Sports and Education, Chief Allwell Onyesoh on his successful return and nomination as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the contest for the seat of Rivers-East senatorial district in the upper chambers of the National Assembly, describing the PDP in the senatorial district as a formidable and united political family.
The council chairman who joined other notable political leaders across the eight LGAs in the senatorial district to monitor the nomination process of the senatorial district held at the Port Harcourt City Council hall on Monday, commended PDP delegates for keeping to the consensus agreement earlier reached by the leadership of the party in the senatorial district, describing the emergence of Chief Allwell Onyeso as a strong foundation for a victorious outing at the 2023 general election.
Dr Lloyd enjoined electorates across the eight local government areas in the senatorial district, as well as the entire state to consolidate on the outcome of the primary elections conducted by the PDP by mobilizing the necessary support to return all PDP candidates elected in the 2023 general election, with a view to retaining all the elective positions in the State.
The Emolga council Boss lauded the state working committee of PDP led by Amb. Desmond Akawor for organizing what he described as one of the best primaries in recent times, crediting the unity in Rivers PDP to the leadership prowess of Gov Nyesom Wike, upon whose effective leadership the PDP stands tall in Rivers State.
In his brief remark, Chief Allwell Onyeso who secured a total of 270 votes from the accredited 270 delegates across the senatorial district to emerge winner of the primary election, thanked the leadership of PDP in the senatorial district for finding him worthy of flying the flag of the party in the general election, promising to reciprocate the gesture when elected to represent the people in the red chambers.
The Rivers-East senatorial primary election which was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), also had in attendance the representatives of the relevant security agencies as witnesses.
