— Renames Okporo Road in Isiodu-Emohua After Late Chief Ken Woke
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd has approved the construction of a 500-capacity pavilion to be sited within the local government council secretariat.
The council chairman also approved the construction of a chapel and marriage registry within the secretariat.
Dr Lloyd who disclosed this during an unscheduled visit to some of the projects being executed within the local government council secretariat on Tuesday, said the proposed council chapel and marriage registry will serve as a place of worship; where staff and non-staff of the council would hold prayer meetings and other religious activities, as well as marriage ceremonies, under the superintendence of a council chaplain that will be appointed on the completion of the project.
Speaking further, Dr Lloyd said the proposed 500 capacity pavilion, otherwise referred to as ‘Mini Stadium’ envisioned by his administration is intended to provide comfortable shelter with modern facilities for public gatherings and outdoor events in the council secretariat.
The council chairman who expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the project sites visited within the council secretariat, said the proposed 500 capacity pavilion and the council chapel and marriage registry were conceived in furtherance of his administration’s commitment to modernize the entire Emohua local government council secretariat.
Meanwhile, Dr Chidi Lloyd in exercise of the powers of the executive chairman of Emohua local government area has renamed former Okporo road in Isiodu-Emohua after Late Chief Ken Woke.
The former Okporo road which was recently graded amongst other roads in Isiodu-Emohua by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd, will henceforth be known as Chief Ken Woke street.
The council chairman announced this when he made a brief stopover at Isiodu-Emohua to supervise the installation of the street signpost by officials of the local government council.
