Sir. Dr. Chidi Lloyd, DSSRS, chairman of Emohua local government area on Monday joined other leaders of Rivers State and dignitaries from all walks of life to witness the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the PortHarcourt ring road project, a signature project of the administration of Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
The flag-off ceremony held in PortHarcourt City local government area had the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the special guest who performed the groundbreaking ceremony on the invitation of the incumbent Governor, H.E Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
The project which connects six local government areas in Rivers State is awarded to Julius Berger PLC, to be completed within three years.
Gov Fubara said the 50.15 dual carriageway with six flyovers and one River crossing bridge is intended to decongest PortHarcourt and Obio-Akpor LGAs and open up new cities across Rivers State.
The Governor enjoined property owners and residents of the benefiting local government areas to cooperate with the construction company and officials of the State Ministry of Works to ensure smooth and speedy implementation of the project.
