–As Chief Anugbum Onuoha Advises Returnees To Be Patient And Diligent
Mr Golden Mbadike, an aide to former managing director of Rivers State signage and advertisement agency (RISAA), Engr Chukwudi Dimkpa who joined his Boss to the APC in 2018 has made a U-turn back to the PDP.
Announcing his defection from the APC back to the PDP at the country home of the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd on Saturday, the aide to former RISAA Boss said his return to the PDP followed his realization of the political reality in Rivers State, emphasizing that there is no road in the APC that leads to electoral victory in Rivers State because according to him, a house divided against itself can not stand.
Mr Mbadike who joined Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa to the APC in 2018 after the former RISAA Boss failed to secure a house of representatives ticket to contest for the Ikwerre/Emohua federal constituency seat in the 2019 general election, regreted leaving the PDP for the APC and pleaded with the leadership of the party in Emohua local government area to forgive him and readmit him back to his original political family.
Speaking further, Mr Golden Mbadike who returned to the PDP with other youths from within and outside Emohua LGA, said they can no longer continue to be armchair critics of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike whom he said has dislodged the APC in Rivers State with outstanding performance, stressing that the governor has actually performed beyond the imaginations of members of the opposition APC in the state.
According to Golden Mbadike: “Gov Wike has done very well and it can only be proper that we come back and join hands to support him. How can we continue to oppose a governor that is adjudged to be the best performing governor in Nigeria, how long are we going to allow them deceive us with their selfish interest, even when it is obvious that nothing they say ever come to pass, instead hatred and bitterness is the order of the day in Rivers APC”.
Also speaking, Mr Owhondah Oge, from ward 6 in Ikwerre LGA, a former personal assistant to former governor Celestine Omehia, who left the PDP some years ago, narrated how they were smooth talked into joining the APC but regretted that non of the promises made to them, including the renewal of their house rents, has been fulfilled, describing the APC as a political party that was founded in lies and deceit.
In his brief remark, the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd congratulated Mr Golden Mbadike and his group for summoning the courage to retrace their steps, emphasizing that the PDP in Rivers State has no serious rival.
Dr Lloyd promised to ensure that the returnees are not denies the rights and privileges of a PDP member, stressing that politics is a game of numbers and must be played to attract more members from the opposition.
Dr Lloyd further promised to interface with his counterparts from other local government areas in Rivers State to ensure that the returnees from other local government areas are properly received and reintegrates back to the PDP in their respective wards and LGAs.
Immediate past special advisers to Rivers State Governor, Chief Dr Anugbum Onuoha and Barr Emma Wonodi in their separate remarks admonished the returnees to justify the sincerity of their return to the PDP by being active in the programs and activities of the party, stressing that PDP is open to any returnee with equal stake.
Dr Anugbum Onuoha who admonished the returnees to be patient and diligent in their service to PDP, stated that everyone in politics has their own appointed time stop shine and until such time comes, politicians must learn to keep faith and support those whose time has come.
The vice chairman of PDP in Emohua LGA, Hon Jim Morrison who received the returnees on behalf of the party chairman, urged Mr Mbadike and his group to identify themselves with the leadership of the PDP in their respective wards and units for proper reintegration into the party.
The defection was observed by the national coordinator of PDP Ex-Councillors Forum, Chief Hon. Prince Weli-Wosu JP, the chairman of PDP in Emohua LGA, Hon Uche Minikwu and other notable leaders of the PDP in Rivers State.
