— Likens Emohua Local Government Sick Bay To A Standard Clinic.
Former Rivers State Commissioner of Heath, Dr Sampson Parker says the quality of projects being executed by Dr Chidi Lloyd in Emohua Local Government Area are above a typical Nigerian Local Government Administration.
Dr Parker made the assertsion when he stopped over at Emohua Council Secretariat for a brief visit to the council chairman on Tuesday.
Sampson Parker who was conducted round the council secretariat for an on the spot assessment of the projects being undertaken by the administration of Dr Lloyd said the Sick Bay being constructed in the council secretariat was way beyond a normal Sick Bay, describing the project as standard clinic or a health center.
Expressing satisfaction with the achievements of Dr Chidi Lloyd within his very short time in office, the former commissioner said he was not surprised to see the infrastructural revolution going on in Emohua Local Government Area because he has no doubt in the ability of the council chairman to change the narrative in the area.
Dr Parker also described the ongoing construction of an ultramodern convenience in the council secretariat as a well thought out project aimed at providing comfort for visitors and staff of the council, describing the facilities at the convenience as extremely modern.
The medical doctor who served as the Commissioner of Health under the administration of Former Governor Chibuike Amachi said he was very much happy to see a Local Government Chairman who is project oriented like the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the Local Government level, stressing that the quality projects being executed by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd in Emohua LGA was going to consolidate on the developmental strides of the State Government in the area.
He said the news about the three different roads being constructed simultaneously in three different parts of the LGA by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd was the best thing to hear from a Local Government administration in Nigeria at a time some state Governments cannot even afford to undertake one single road construction.
Emohua Local Government Chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd said the funds for the projects being executed by his administration has been set aside to ensure that all the projects are completed within the stipulated time.
The council chairman said the projects are being funded with the recoveries from over payment of salary and other irregularities intercepted in the council nominal roll by the committee set up by his administration on assumption of office.
Revealing his administration’s plan to embark on another round of project flag-off, Dr Lloyd said his vision was to rewrite the story of Emohua Local Government Area with positive narrative with the resources available to the council and promised to execute projects that will have direct impact on the people across the fourteen wards of the Local Government Area before the end of his tenure.
He also hinted that his administration intends to give the Local Government Headquarters a facelift with the construction of a new Council Secretariat Building which will be flagged off in no distant time.
The council chairman thanked Dr Sampson Parker for finding time to visit the council secretariat, describing the visit by the former Health Commissioner as encouraging.
Other projects sites visited includes the ongoing electrification in the council and the construction of Titan Trust Bank ATM gallery within the council secretariat.
