— Promises To Complete Elele-Alimini Cottage Hospital Project Initiated By The Immediate Past Administration
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd has said that construction work is expected to commence at the permanent site of Emohua magistrate court complex in Elele-Alimini town before the end of 2022.
Dr Lloyd also disclosed his administration’s readiness to complete the cottage hospital project initiated by the administration of the immediate past chairman of Emohua local government area, Hon Tom Aliezi in Elele-Alimini town.
The council chairman disclosed this while addressing the people of Elele-Alimini (ward 9) at a reception organised in his honour by the leadership of the community on Saturday.
He thanked the leaders of Elele-Alimini for their support to his administration, promising to always ensure that the community is carried along in the programs and activities of his administration.
Dr Lloyd maintained that Elele-Alimini is strategically located to witness rapid development and urged stakeholders in the community to take advantage of the geographical location of Elele-Alimini as a gateway community in Rivers State to attract more government projects, as well as private investors to the community.
He reaffirmed the appointment of a caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of Elele-Alimini Youth Congress, following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past executives of the youth body and in adherence to the statewide ban on youth elections in Rivers State.
Dr. Lloyd urged the youths to be ambassadors of peace and progress in their community, as he promised to interface with heads of the different organs of Elele-Alimini community, with a view to finding lasting solutions to some of the challenges bedeviling the community.
Earlier in his brief remark, retired justice P.N.C Agumagu, described Dr Chidi Lloyd as a son of Elele-Alimini and reassured the council chairman of the community’s unwavering support to his administration.
He congratulated the council chairman on his sterling performance within few months in office and prayed for God’s continuous protection and provision to enable the council chairman reposition Emohua local government area, to stand out amongst others.
Former chairman of Emohua local government area, Barr Emma Wonodi, former CMD University of Portharcourt teaching hospital, Prof Aaron Ojule and other respected leaders of Elele-Alimini community who spoke on the sidelines of the reception held in honor Dr. Chidi Lloyd, said the people of Elele-Alimini and the entire Ishinbam district in Emohua local government area are very proud of the council chairman, describing the achievements of Dr Chidi Lloyd within six months in office as first of its kind in the history of local government administration in Rivers State.
The well attended reception which featured cultural dances and traditional wrestling exhibition, also had in attendance eminent sons of the community, traditional rulers (Ohna), religious leaders, members of Elele-Alimini council of chiefs, Community Development Committee, women and youth groups.
