The chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has ordered that all flags within the local government area be flown at half-mast in honor of the founder of Wigwe University and Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, who recently died in a helicopter crash in California, USA, alongside his wife and son.
The late Dr. Herbert Wigwe was, until his painful exit, an illustrious son of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, from Isiokpo Kingdom in Ikwerre LGA, with an enviable profile in the international banking sector.
Dr. Lloyd gave the directive during a routine inspection of infrastructure projects undertaken by his administration within Emohua Local Government Headquarters on Monday.
He said the flags will fly at half-mast on Tuesday, February 13, and Wednesday, February 14, 2024, to honor the renowned banker and industrialist, whose contributions to the development of Rivers State and Nigeria at large cannot be overemphasized, even in death.
The project inspection is in preparation for the inauguration of completed infrastructure projects executed by Emohua Local Government Council under the watch of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, slated to be held between February 19 and March 2024.
