Emohua local government chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd, joined other leaders of Rivers State on Wednesday to witness the official flag-off of construction work on Elekahia internal roads undertaken by the Rivers State government in the Elekahia community, Port Harcourt City local government area, and Rivers State.
The construction of the 28 internal roads in the Elekahia community is a continuation of the urban renewal program of the Nyesom Wike-led Rivers State government.
Dr Lloyd lauded Gov. Nyesom Wike’s developmental strides in Rivers State, describing the construction of the Elekahia internal roads as another remarkable initiative of the governor with a national honour in infrastructure development in Nigeria.
Gov. Nyesom Wike said in his remarks that the project is expected to be completed before the expiration of his tenure in May 2023.
The governor urged the people of the Elekahia community and the Port Harcourt city local government area at large to identify and support leaders who attract development to their communities in the 2023 general election.
The special guest and South-South National Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, who performed the groundbreaking ceremony, said he is proud of Gov. Wike’s achievements in leadership and infrastructural revolution in Rivers State.
