DR. LLOYD CHARGES POLITICAL APPOINTEES TO BE INNOVATIVE, TO ADD VALUE TO HIS ADMINISTRATION

The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has charged political appointees in the local government council to be innovative in carrying out their official functions, in order to add value to his administration.

He said each political appointee in the local government council under his watch must be able to come up with ideas that will be useful to his administration’s vision of repositioning Emohua LGA to stand out in the comity of LGAs in Nigeria.

Dr. Lloyd who spoke during the inauguration of the recently screened and ratified supervisors-designates held in his office at the council headquarters in Emohua on Tuesday, urged the appointees to key in and add value to his administration’s vision of rewriting the story of Emohua local government area with positive narrative.

Those inaugurated are:

1. Solomon Ikpo

2. Eric Owhor Osimini

3. Queeneth Chukwu

4. Princewill Dick

5. Bernard Elechi

Also inaugurated by the council chairman on Tuesday were the advisers-designates approved for appointment by the local government legislative assembly.

They are:

1. Stephen Chinweike Orlu-Owhor

2. Elijah Chigweru

3. Ishmael Ikunga

4. Steve Ogbuewu

5. Chidinma Ndah

The council chairman said; the nomination of the supervisors and advisers may have been done by the leaders of the local government area but the commitment and productiveness of the political appointees remains the key to their job security.

He noted that none of the political appointees was nominated because they were more qualified than those who didn’t make the list, but because they were favoured by the leadership of their respective wards, stating that anyone who doesn’t add value would be replaced with other very qualified and capable hands who would be useful to his administration.

Dr. Lloyd congratulated the inaugurated appointees who are all returnees in his administration and ordered that appointees who reside outside Emohua LGA should immediately relocate back to their respective communities , to serve as the direct link between the government and the communities.

He added that the days when council appointees lived outside their local government area while receiving salaries and other entitlements from the council were over, stressing that the government at the third tier is the closest to the people, hence its political appointees must be those living among the people in the rural communities.

The inauguration ceremony which featured the administration of oath of office and oath of allegiance was witnessed by the leader of Emohua Local Government Legislative Assembly, Hon Mrs. Love Nyenke .
