Emohua Local Government on Friday interfaced with the management of Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) at the Board Headquarters in PortHarcourt.
The delegation from Emohua Local Government led by the Secretary to the Local Government, Chief Vincent Chukwu who represented the council chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd was at the board Headquarters to bring to the attention of the board the state of some of the basic schools in the Local Government Area and seek possible collaboration with the board with a view to improving the condition of the schools in the area.
The chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Ven. Fyneface Ndubuisi Akah led members and directors of the board to receive and interact with the delegation from Emohua Local Government.
The board chairman who lauded Dr Chidi Lloyd’s determination and commitment to reposition Emohua Local Government Area assured that the concerns raised by the Local Government Chairman was going to be given the required attention in line with the vision of the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, stressing that considerations will be made based on the percentage apportionment for the Local Government Area .
Ven. Akah commended Dr Chidi Lloyd for standing out as the first Local Government Chairman to have made presentation to the State Universal Basic Education Board with regards to the state of the schools in his LGA, describing the step by the council chairman as visionary and exemplary.
He however noted that the board has always given attention to basic schools in Emohua and other Local Government Areas in the State but maintained that a collaboration with the Local Government especially in the area of security will go a long way to encourage the activities of the board in the area.
